Acoustic Legend Davey Graham's Fylde Falstaff For Auction On eBay
On December 15th 2008, the music world lost one of its most treasured icons, the acoustic guitarist Davey Graham. He may not have been a household name, but players as diverse as Martin Carthy, Paul Simon and Jimmy Page all name Davey as a significant influence on their work. Credited with the discovery of the now popular DADGAD tuning, his 1964 album 'Folk Blues And Beyond' was to go on to change the way the acoustic guitar was played forever.
Sadly his career was hindered by ill-health and he spent a great deal of time in enforced retirement from playing. He re-emerged a few years ago and approached Roger Bucknall of Fylde guitars to replenish his stock of instruments, which had been depleted as a result of a break-in at his home some years before. Roger built Davey two guitars: an Orsino, which Davey used in live performance, and a Falstaff which he used in the studio, most notably on his 2007 release 'Broken Biscuits'.
